Our story begins in the heart of Nebraska. We met in high school at a Future Farmers of America (FFA) leadership event, where Angela surprised Tommy by asking him to dance. That first spark quickly grew into something special and before long we were traveling to see each other every chance we got. We loved going fishing together, spending time with each other's families, and just enjoying being together.
After we got married and graduated college in 2014, life took us down different paths for a while. Angela went to medical school, and Tommy supported her from afar while working in construction. Once Angela started her pathology residency in 2019, we were finally able to live together again in Kansas City.
In 2022, while Angela was in residency, we experienced a miscarriage and struggles with infertility before being blessed with our first son, Wyatt. Becoming parents for the first time was exciting, a little scary, and completely life-changing. Wyatt's smile and energy quickly filled our lives with joy.
In 2023, we both found jobs back home in Nebraska and were happy to return to our roots, surrounded by our families and open spaces.
We were blessed again in 2024 with the arrival of our second son, Frederick. He is a bit more easygoing than his big brother, but his mischievous little grin keeps us smiling every day.
Tommy is a fun-loving and active husband and father. He always stives to be honest, patient, and passionate with everyone he meets. Tommy always prioritizes the needs of his family above his own and works to reflect the teachings of Christ with me and the boys.
Tommy is very smart and loves to plan. Whether he is having the boys help him build things around the house or fixing a car, he always finds a way to make activities a fun learning experience. Tommy loves being outdoors, fixing things, building things, and constantly reads books with the boys.
Tommys parents, Scott (Pe-paw) and Jackie (Me-Maw) live only about an hour away from our home. Scott is an accountant and Jackie is a retired nurse.
Tommy has two older brothers. Kelly is a pastor who lives in Minnesota and is married to Mandy; they have three children (two biological and one adopted). Robby is a physical therapist and is married to Devyn; they have four children.
Tommy's family enjoys days at their cabin on the lake and takes pride in the annual Bloody Mary Thanksgiving morning party- a long standing and much-loved family tradition.
I currently work at the the local university teaching within the Construction Management program. The program is a business oriented program and most of my classes include teaching fundamental & advanced business practices associated with the construction industry.
I have over 10 years of experience working within the construction industry on projects across the country. Angela and I completed our undergraduate degrees at the same time. After graduation, I completed a Masters program in Business Administration.
I love teaching college students and preparing them for a successful future. Having years of real-life work experience definately brings value to the students that I work with. I am looking forward to a long career teaching and will be pursuing a doctoral program next year.
Tommy loves being outdoors and exploring natures. We always compete with each other to see who can catch the biggest fish (P.S., I'm winning!) Tommy always takes time to walk with the boys around the pasture, going to the park, or playing in the yard.
Tommy is a constant learner. He loves reading classical literature and music. If you ever have a question about some obscure history topic, he probably knows the answer. Tommy also loves playing instruments includeing the guitar and piano.
Angela is warm, hard-working, and family oriented. Angela always trys to laugh and stay positive, enjoying the little
moments in life. It is her dream to raise our kids on our acreage, teaching them about life, animals, and faith, and to spend our days enjoying the
outdoors together.
Angela's parents, Phil (Papa) and Janice (Mimi), live about two hours away from us, where they farm for a living. They are extremely active in the church which keeps them busy - especially with the many animals they own for the annual living nativity that they help organize each year.
Angela has two older sisters, Sarah and Trisha, who are both nurses and live in the same town as us. Each sister is married with two children, giving the kids lots of cousins to play with!
Angela's family takes pride in putting faith and family at the center of their lives.
I received her bachelor degree in chemistry before attendeding medical school. Following medical school, I completed a residency in Pathology in Kansas City. I was lucky enough to then get a job back close to home in Nebraska as a Pathologist at the local hospital. A pathologist is a doctor that is typically hidden away in the lab. They diagnosis diseases such as cancer by looking at tissue through the microscope. What I love about my career is that it, first of all is challenging and there is always something different to find. In addition, it has a great work-life balance. I take minimal call and no weekends. There are rarely long day which gives me plenty of time to spend with my kiddos at home.
Angela is an avid horse rider, I'm pretty sure she learned how to ride hoses before she learned to walk. She not only enjoys riding them, but hauling them to shows as well. She also enjoys doing pretty much anything outside such as gardening, landscaping, and especially playing with the boys with what ever they are getting into. When she can't be outside you can ofter find her knitting or reading.

Our home sits on a 10 acre property in the country. It is a 5 bedroom 3.5 bath home with plenty of space to explore. The kids have their very own designated playroom and the yard has endless space to run and play.
Ourside we have a large riding arena where you can find Angela out riding or working the dirt. We also have large turnouts and a pasture for our two horses and our donkey. In the backyard we have a large fenced in gardenand the boys LOVE helping plant and pick all of the veggies.
