Hi! We are Brie and Kevin. We first met each other in college and married soon after graduating. Kevin works in developing and maintaining safety programs in a science foundation while Brie works in accounting.
Brie has been called to adopt since very young. We also tried to have children of our own but were unsuccessful, we lost a daughter at 16 days after birth, a son after 20 weeks early birth/miscarriage as well as two early miscarriages. These events have caused us to go through with our adoption plans a bit earlier. Our family is also made up of several adopted people and this is something we wish to continue out of other’s need as well as our love, Kevin’s mother, uncle and Brie’s aunt are all adopted. You don’t need common blood to be family. After considerable prayer, now also seems the right time to look into and start the adoptive process.
We live in a safe and comfortable suburban house with our very friendly corgis (dogs). Our neighborhood has many wonderful resources for a developing child to be able to thrive, including many parks, trails in the woods and along local beaches, libraries, schools, and museums within walking distance. As well as restaurants and grocery stores from a incredibly diverse range of cultures and ethnicities. We also have valuable resources including medical offices and hospitals in the immediate vacinity.
We like to spend our time with constructive hobbies, including cooking nutritious and delicious meals using food from our gardens. We also enjoy traveling to the coast and exploring areas in our state and neighboring ones. We have a love of enjoying games together, be it board games, video games, puzzles, or books.
Kevin has a love of gardening and cooking, knowing this is one of the best ways to bring people together - with a good coversation while enjoying a delicious meal. Kevin participates in charitable work to help causes close to his heart including children's health, animal welfare, and ways to support the church. Kevin also appreciates the need for one to have fun and relax by enjoying games and getting close to nature.
Kevin's parents, Brian and Joanne, live about 15 miles away with their little dog. They are a frequent visitor to his home, just like Kevin is frequently a guest at their home. Kevin and his father often are helping each other with various projects and Kevin has a wonderful time just getting lost in conversation with his mother.
Kevin's brother Rob also lives in the area with his wife Amber, and their two sons David and Sam. School and activities for the nephews constantly keep their house busy, but time is always made to remain in contact and to get together as often as schedules allow.
Kevin's grandmother recently passed, but was a strong influence in his life. She provided examples of strength through her unbending faith and immense love.

Kevin has always been amazed by science. In college he majored in biology, while also enjoying the theology and philosophy classes that a Jesuit college provided. He applied this education to becomming a researcher in childhood infectious diseases. Eventually Kevin transitioned from being a scientist to providing safety and regulatory guidance for his fellow researchers. Kevin is blessed to have a casual work environment that leaves him feeling content and appreciated.
This focus on safety has helped to also let Kevin make sure that their home is always safe and prepared for any potential emergencies.
Kevin loves to make sure any guest, visitor, or loved one has a full belly. This has led to a enthusiasm for gardening and cooking.
Kevin has also always been at peace when in nature. He grew up knowing the simple joys of camping in the woods and mountains, and later in life learned to beauty of being near the coast.
Dogs are a constant part of Kevin's family. He grew up knowing the love a pet brings to their family. Kevin and Brie have had corgis for many years.
Kevin is also happy to play a game or solve a puzzle as a fun way to spend time with his loved ones.
Kevin likes to apply his interests in charitable causes. One of his favorite yearly activities is playing video games for 24 hours in an event called Extra Life to fundraise money for Children's Miracle Network Hsopitals.
Kevin's passions include outdoor cooking - be it grilling or making a homemade pizza.
