We first met in kindergarten, Mike always had a crush on Amanda and used to tell his mom that they would get married someday. Little did we know, that after venturing separate ways that we would reconnect at 28 and get married shortly after. Our lives have proven eventful with babies, fur babies, house renovations and all things in between. Amanda and Mike have discussed adoption since their first date. Amanda, specifically, holds a unique perspective. Her mom was a teen mom and chose to give her the gift of life. Amanda's mother got married to her adopted dad when she was around 2. Amanda did not find out that her dad was not her biological father until she was 16 on 'accident.' As a mother, Amanda understands that her parents did everything in their power to protect her and did what they thought was best at the time. However, the circumstances have provided her with a unique perspective on adoption. Now that Amanda is a mother, she has embraced a profound understanding of what sacrifces and strength it takes to chose the gift of life life.
